I am happily using my Logitech Webcam WITHOUT the "Desktop Manager", 
and UWIN runs flawlessly.

Someone posted a problem related to UWIN and a Logitech mouse
sometime around September 2006.  I beleive that a workaround was also
posted.  My guess that it is somewhere in the archives.
