Hello, Up until a couple years ago I was happily using UWIN-BASE as a productivity tool on NT and then XP. I'm now again in an IT environment that will allow UWIN use and so am looking to install it but having no luck.
I've got XP SP3 on a ThinkPad and neither 4.5 (hangs after two lines of output) or 5.0b (install crashes part way through) will install. Reading the uwin-users archives these appear to be longstanding unresolved issues on some XP systems with no solution in sight. Even so, our IT team will be moving us to win7 in the next few months. So, I'm wondering what my options might be. Will the XP issues be resolved before I'm moved to win7? Is UWIN going to work on win7 when I get there? Preferring not to rely on beta software, when will a production version of UWIN 5.0 be out? Am I going to have to move to Cygwin? Thanks, Chuck Dillon
