happy new year

after a long time dealing with windows 7 and 32&64 bit process support
the uwin 2012-01-01 beta source and binary release
has been posted to the download site
        http://www.research.att.com/sw/download/beta/

starting 2012-01-01 we have switched from the opensource Common Public License
1.0
to the opensource Eclipse Public License 1.0; there is little difference
between the
two, other than Eclispse seems to be more widely used; this means the license
acceptance
string has changed (the old one will be accepted for a short period to aid
transition)
the new string is at the bottom of the license
        http://www.research.att.com/sw/download/licenses/epl-1.0.html

the uwin-base installation recalls previous settings from the UWIN registry and
avoids
most of the initial dialogue; click "No" if you want to change some of those
settings

the "32 and 64 bit" link in the UWIN navigation link describes 32&64 bit
process support

if you have X11 installed then the XWin server may not start up correctly on
UWIN restart
run "XRun &" to workaround and start the server -- we're working on this
