Sorry about the confusion regarding that, it was from v92, i20.

Someone asked David Korn about updating a book and David Korn indicated
that the co-author of that book was deceased. I took that to mean
recently, not years ago. My mistake.

There was nothing in that however that would indicate or even suggest that
uwin was dead, I find uwin useful in an XP environment, though I think ksh
should have it's command line handling to be more in line with bash or
even a current Windows cmd prompt. Command recall and command line editing
are really useful.
