OK
Have'nt run the bike (1988) in about 8 months and I'm just about ready to get
going. I put in a new 4 brush starter. The battery was not hooked up to a
charger but after trickle charging it, it does read 12V. When I push the
start I get one or two cranks and a lot of clicking from the relay, but
nothing close to ignition.
Could the battery still need replacement even though it reads 12V? Is there
anything different about a 4 brush starter? Could something else be the
problem?
I'm also wondering if I should get some carb cleaner and spray everything.
Also I've drained the gas and put in fresh gas.
Suggestions?
