Comment #6 on issue 3237 by [email protected]: Remove
non-standard Promise methods
https://code.google.com/p/v8/issues/detail?id=3237
They must not be shipped by default. Shipping non-standard V8 features
encourages the rise of more Chrome-only sites like Inbox.
Furthermore, the committee explicitly rejected adding such methods, so they
are not even standards-track. The consensus was to potentially in the
future explore type-system compatible promises under a new interface
("futures"), but not the Promise interface.
I request that they be moved under a flag if they must be kept at all.
--harmony would be a bit of a misnomer since they are not harmonious, but
that doesn't really matter.
I am surprised that unilaterally shipping nonstandard features (not even
stage 0) by default was ever allowed to get through Intent to Ship.
