The makers of the game have a great deal of latitude. They can provide
documentation and advertise it well to make it easier for people to swap in
and out different sorting algorithms. They can provide a collection of
algorithms that each target a different segment of the design space, again
with good documentation and benchmarks to explain where each algorithm
shines the best. When you say that it is trivial to write, test, and
install new sorting algorithms, you are allowed to provide examples that
show parts of that, you are allowed to provide pointers to easy to use and
relatively complete benchmarks, and you are allowed to make it easier for
people to contribute to the collection.
