Hi Tony -

The mips porting activity is moving forward, and we are making good
progress. The mips code in the google v8 repository is quite old, and
is not functional.

We are maintaining the project separately here (http://github.com/
paul99/v8mips) until things are complete enough to restart the code
submission process back to the google v8 team. I think we are getting
close to that time.

Please look at the wiki area for build instructions and project
status.

I would say we are not quite ready for prime-time yet, but you are
welcome to pull and try the code, and to contribute....

We still do not have 100% test compliance, and our benchmark
performance is good but not great. We are running v8 in the Android
browser on mips platforms. Details are on the project status wiki.

Our biggest issue at this time is that our code was last rebased with
google's 4 months ago, so we are quite far behind their progress. For
better or worse, we made the decision to stay with a stable v8 core
until we had the mips arch working. We did not expect it to take this
long :-) So I will be starting to rebase our code next week. With 4
months of changes from google, it will likely take us at least 2-3
weeks to get things running again.

Hope this helps,

paul
