The person you wrote about having to replace 2 transmitions in his suberan
was me you speculated that meby I was not maintaining them properaly or my
driveing habits caused them to fail .The origional owner replacedthe 1st
transmition at 56kmiles I replaced that one at a little over 100k miles and
the next one went out at 175kmiles. I got rid of the suberan than.while I had
the6.2 diesel suberan I instaa 5 core raidatorand oversiezed transmition
cooler replaced the fluid at a regurlar intervental.the 6.2 diesel lacked a
little in powerso when climing hills I used a lower gear so it would not
cycle from a higher geat to a lower one ,It did not have overdrive. When I
sold it I bought a 1992 Dodge diesel with 89k miles. I bought this one
because it had a manual transmition I had heard that Dodge auto
transmitionswere weak. Mt troubles should be over Right??? wrong In Mexico
while traveling in a caravan at 48mph on a level highway in 5th gear I heard
a "clunk" frome my transmiand there was nothing no forward no reverse no
noise no nothing. After gitting towed out of Mexico and to the Dodge Dealer
inMc Allen Texas and cooling my heals for 10 days they installed a rebuilt
transmition for a measly $5200.00 nevwr eaven kissed me and sent me on my
way.Howeaver they speculated that my 24ft Tradewind might be putting too much
strain. on the drive train. I have driven manual transmitions for 60 years
ans never tore one up . but i never owned a Dodge before.
As of now I am afraid to try to tow the trailer anywhere. it sets in my side
yard in Tampa.
I am not in the finical condition to go out and buy the latestes super tow
truckEnough is enough.
