For what it's worth. If you are considering a vintage tow vehicle [one with a separate frame and body], I would suggest a station wagon, convertible or hard top convertible (no center pillar). These body styles used a reinforced frame which is stiffer and stronger - and better for a weight distributing hitch. They also have a lower center of gravity and are a little more stable on the road.
