Hunter Hampton posted this in the Airstream List. Sad news indeed for
those of us who knew Bill.
One of our planned stops during our Winter trip was outside Dallas to
meet with Bill; we had lunch at the Wendy's restaurant. I don't believe
that Bill was yet 60 years old and was a peach of a guy.

Hi Gang,
Sad news. I know NO details so please don't bombard me with questions.
I
have no answers.
You know Bill Scott, the listie who was always so helpful about vintage
trailers.
He died on the way to the Cherry Blossom Rally... the Wash DC rally.
Bill lived in Texas and was always so proud to show his vintage trailer
at
the open houses at the rallies he attended.
A while back you may have noticed that he dropped off the list. He had
a
stroke.
I was shocked when I found out because he was young... I would guess
50s.
We have stayed in touch and he assured me he was recovering and just
before
he left for the rally he wrote about how happy he was to be getting back
into
the swing of things.
Now this. I don't know how he died, where he died or what he died of...
I
only know that this is a very sad time. Bill was a wonderful person and
all
who knew him must be shocked and saddened by his, much too soon,
passing.
Hunter
