It appears WR Grace and Beatrice were co-defendants in a pollution suit in
the mid-80s:  

..."Schlichtmann represented eight families living in the small town of
Woburn, Mass. They charged that the town's water supply had been poisoned by
Grace and Beatrice."

They would have been linked in the press, and in this John Travolta movie
which I never heard of, so people could have gotten the idea that they were
the same company, or at least related to each other.
