The symbolic link should already be in there, at least in my environment 
(Mac OS X 10.8.5)

$ ls -l `which vagrant`
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  admin  24 Jul 19 23:29 */usr/local/bin/vagrant -> 
/opt/vagrant/bin/vagrant*
