The only supported upgrade path is incremental, AFAIK, except that I think LTS releases should upgrade cleanly to the next LTS release, or something like that. Anyway, I always upgrade from one Ubuntu release to the next. I've had some minor issues, on one or two releases, but they were usually reasonable easy to work around (force deinstallation of a package, etc...). I'm pretty familiar with APT, so that does help. Ubuntu is working hard to make upgrades smoother, though (and Debian upgrades have been smoother than the RPM-based distro's are for a long time, or so I understand :). Be a shame not to take advantage of all of the effort being put in. -Forest -- Forest Bond http://www.alittletooquiet.net
