Hi, I've seen a thread on this list from Hiren Gajjar dated 2008-10-06 discussing support for ppc e500. I too have applied the changes for the isel instruction and come up against more e500 instructions that are not decoded. I'm working on the valgrind 3.4.0 sources with the patch mentioned in bug ID 160954.
The target I'm using is MPC8555 (e500 v2 pvr 8020 0020) and the toolchain is Montavista Linux Pro 3.1 (gcc 3.4.1). Valgrind has proved very effective on other ppc platforms so it would be a valuable tool if only I could make it work for our 85xx target. How much work would it be to support the e500 properly? I can read the e500 core reference manual and I'm willing to put a bit of effort in, but I have not worked on valgrind before so would need some mentoring. Maybe someone has already done this work and it's languishing in a patch somewhere?
