Uh, ok, if 3.6.0 crashes then it's still a bug, I guess.

Best thing is:

* make a small standalone test case program that demonstrates
  the problem

* file a bug + attach the test case

You might find it useful to look at
  memcheck/tests/deep_templates.cpp
  memcheck/tests/long_namespace_xml.cpp
as they might be related to this problem.
