I suppose that solves it, although I do like using the native
file chooser UI. That presents a more uniform UI across applications
on a particular machine and also allows one to exploit the nice
additional features of operating systems.
For example, I like having the color coding for the Mac OS
show up in the dialog. I can understand a desire to have a
more uniform UI across platforms, but I think there are more
single-platform cross-application users than vice versa.
