Hi,

I've only been looking at Vassal for a few days but I can say that it
seems absolutely amazing! Congratulations to the designer. It looks
very logical, and infinitely adaptable. It really does beat the competition
hands tied. I think it was a wise decision to keep complex graphical
manipulation out of Vassal - leave it to Adobe, etc. and let vassal do
what it does best with gifs or whatever from elsewhere.

Now it's up to me to try to convert my board game into a Vassal
module. It's taken seven years to get it to a playtest-able form. My
game uses maps on which army counters move. These armies are
represented by army displays upon which individual units are placed
(although units can also go on the map). An army might represent 20
or so units. Is this kind of display easy to achieve? Also, can a simple
piece of programming be added to calculate strength and size totals for
each army and/or stack for combat or supply purposes?

In your replies (if any) please bear in mind that my background is in
history, art and computer-based graphic design not in programming.
Even undertaking this conversion is therefore very daunting for me.

Thank you,
Matthew
