A simpler solution is to right-click (or Control-Click) on the link and choose "Download Linked File". That will by-pass the normal unzipping. One minor problem, though, is that sometimes the *.mod file is also zipped in the upload, and so it may need to be unzipped. The general convention is to use the *.zip extension if it needs to be unzipped and *.mod if you don't want to unzip it, although this is not followed by all modules....
