[vassalengine] WAV to AU

My module's file size is getting kind of ridiculous, and it's mostly
because of all the sound files. I understand that VASSAL will only
play WAVs, AIFFs, and AUs.  Am I right in thinking that AU files would
be the smallest of the three?  If so, can anyone recommend a free
program that can convert my enormous collection of WAVs to AUs?  I'm
running windows xp, if that makes a difference.
