Jeff,

A module is just a zip file renamed to .mod. VASSAL never deletes anyhting out 
of a module, so over time as you develop, a module bloats up with put of date 
images.

You need to rename the module to something.zip, then unzip it. Have a look 
inside the images sub-directory and delete any old versions of images you no 
longer need, then zip the whole lot back up again, making sure you keep the 
structure the same.
