[vassalengine] Any way to calculate distance on a drag and dropped piece?

I'm trying to figure out if there is any way to calculate or find out
how far a piece was moved with drag and drop? I have a key that is
firing after each time the piece has moved and gives the coordinates,
but I don't think that is going to help.
