I haven't been able to find very explanatory documentation for vassal.
 It is obvious from your response that I don't know anything about
using universal attributes.  I kind of get what you're saying but in a
miniature game most pieces won't have unique values, they will all
have the same stats and values for the most part.

I'm guessing that if a stat card (piece) and a miniature (piece) both
have properties that are also universal attributes then I can make the
changes to one or the other but they both will be affected.  If so
markers and text labels would be used to reflect the change visually
on the board/miniature so the card wouldn't have to be referenced all
the time?
