Do you meant vbox already supports temp property? or need some more work.
 
However, when I call IMachine::SetGuestProperty(), then I open the machine 
settings file, I see it inside the xml file. Is this correct?

In the current implementation these properties would not survive saving
the machine state.  Should be possible to implement of course.
