Hi Perry,

Well I spoke a little too soon. It did allow me to actually change the
media in the CD/DVD but now, when selecting a different version of GAs I
get this error.

Unable to mount the CD/DVD image (name)
on the machine Windows-7. Would you like to force mounting on this medium?

Could not mount the media/drive
(absolute path and name)
(verr_cfgm_leaf_exists)

I tried to change the media on a running system and tried removing the
present media in the guest settings with guest shut down and adding the
media I wanted. Adding manually with guest off works.

This was a bug which was already fixed when Frank replied - however the public repo update apparently didn't happen. Probably a case of doing too many things at the same time... sorry about that.

It's now up to date. BTW, r37847 corresponds to 4.1.0_BETA2

Latest update from SVN

Trying to attach the VirtualBox Guest-Additions.iso to the CD/DVD drive
produces the following error.

Failed to save the settings of the virtual machine (name)
Setting the non-rotational medium flag rejected as the device
attached to device slot 0 on port 1 of controller 'IDE Controller' is
not a hard disk.

Guest is Windows XP pro and I have been installing additions the same
old way for a long time.
Really doesn't matter the guest though. I tested this on several guests
Windows, Linux and none of them work.

Ideas on how to proceed?
Yes -- just do 'svn update' and recompile :)

Kind regards,

Frank
