For technical reasons, SMB and NAT networking (in general, not just NAT in VirtualBox) don't mix very well. Generally, a guest in a NATed VM can connect to an SMB share on or visible to the host using its IP address instead of the host name - doing it by host name would be possible, but would require special support that we never got round to adding to our NAT implementation. However, I suggest that you take a look at using VirtualBox shared folders (described in the user manual) as an alternative.
