hmm....

If it can't access some files, there can be 2 cures:
1. Re-install VBox (1st time from same package, then try from
all-distro package)
2. Disable SELinux (temporarily)

As I have VBox running on RHEL 5 x64 host (this is my closest host
config to yours).
