As another blind user, I've run natively on a windows host, and over vrdp on a gnu/linux host just fine. I do though prefer running a guest on a host where I'm physically present, since I've found that when running gnu/linux guests using the microsoft rdp client, it is a bit sluggish, especially when typing. If I'm for example using speakup with espeakup/espeak, on a gnu/linux guest over vrdp I can count to 3 between pressing a key, and getting speech feedback from speakup. I've followed the suggestions in the virtualbox manual on dealing with sluggish performance when using the microsoft rdp client, but that still doesn't help. > > Any tips on setting this up would be appreciated (like setting the rdp port > and do I have to set vrde?) All you need to know is in the chapter of the virtualbox manual dealing with vrdp. If you run into specific problems, I'm sure myself or others would be able to help resolve them.
