-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello list,
During testing, I found out, that a simple program can crash the linux kernel, even when run as unprivileged user. The crash happened in an ubuntu-precise i386 guest machine. Running the same program on same kernel-version host system does nothing. Has someone the time to download a test program [1], compile it using "gcc -o RtcInt RtcInt.c" and run it, e.g. as user nobody in a linux guest? I'm interested, if just my installation is broken or if there is really a problem in linux kernel or vbox. hd [1]: http://www.halfdog.net/Security/2012/VirtualBoxSoftwareInterrupt0x8GuestCrash/RtcInt.c - -- http://www.halfdog.net/ PGP: 156A AE98 B91F 0114 FE88 2BD8 C459 9386 feed a bee -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAlAz8+QACgkQxFmThv7tq+5AQACdHbO6HFKK06f4c295P9aLAVwt gdsAoIJHfOMga4J+UloCV3vi6gX4FN62 =hMoT -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
