Hello everyone,
My main interest in Virtualbox is for testing iso images without the need to
burn to disk. I am working from a base install of Ubuntu Server 12.04 on an
older 32 bit system. Having already tried to build a VM using qemu-kvm I've
found that my system doesn't support hardware virtualization, but was
advised that virtualbox does. I've installed virtualbox 4.1-24 and the
extension pack, then co-authored a bash script to create my VMs from iso
images. Actually very little of my code made it into the finished script.
The script appears to work very well. The VM is created as well as the disk
image, but I am unable to confirm that since I get an error messege: failed
to open the x11 display.

Is there a way to enable software virtualization without having to install a
desktop gui? I would prefer not installing a desktop since that would
require also installing Orca which would be incompatable with my dns server.
At the same time I am unable to replace my hardware at present. Any help or
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Jeff
