Using the 5.0 VB:
I do not know id this is new, or if it is my fault.
When I start a VM which was last started in full screen mode,
and at startup it dies with Fatal error, then I lose
all control over my destop env, and I have to resort to
open a vty and kill the VB processes to regain the DT.
