Doing some testing with vbox and iperf on vbox 5. iperf Client on physical Windows --> iperf server on virtualized Windows (across a real network with 1Gbs switch).
A pretty impressive: 903Mbps iperf Server on physical Windows --> iperf client on virtualized windows (across a real network with 1Gbps switch) 572 Mbps. BTW, the virtualized machine is running on Omnios, downloading files from SMB, I am pretty much hitting wire speed.
