I probably would have cloned the dell machine to a new VM with
backup/restore process like clonezilla (I keep selling it on this list,
it seems.   but it's freeware, so I don't feel bad).   that, in theory,
should pull down in all the registration information, all the installed
apps, everything.. effectively just turn your physical laptop into a
VM.   Baring that, I think you either have to go Rogue or pay for the
software a second time.
