I posted the message below on gmane.os.openindiana.general on July 9, as of yet I have received no answers.
The openindian operating system recently included qt5. I'd like to know if that means it should now be possible to install recent versions of Vbox on it. I'm not that adept at making any but known workable installs on that OS but would really like to hear from anyone hear who can speak on this subject. Especially someone how can speak from experience but anyone with a solid opinion would be good too Posted July 9 on gmane.os.openindiana.general: From: Harry Putnam <[email protected]> Subject: Should we be able to install and run recent vbox versions Newsgroups: gmane.os.openindiana.general To: [email protected] Date: Sun, 09 Jul 2017 17:56:53 -0400 (6 days, 18 hours, 29 minutes ago) Message-ID: <[email protected]> Setup: OS: Openindian/hipster (A branch of Solaris 11) Hardware: HP xw8600 workstation: 2x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5470 @ 3.33GHz - 32 GB Ram ------- ------- ---=--- ------- ------- I've heard that recent versions of Vbox (above 5.0.X) are based on qt5 Should we be able to install recent versions of Vbox from the VBox web pages, provided we have qt5 installed? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ VBox-users-community mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/vbox-users-community _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe: mailto:[email protected]?subject=unsubscribe
