Hi Ian,

does the log show information about capturing something and where it
captures to (a file)? Those entries have the prefix "VideoRec:" in the
machine's log file.

Which video capture settings are you using?

It doesn't show any lines prefixed with VideoRec: in the machine's log file, despite having Video Capture enabled. As far as the settings go, it makes no difference what I choose. Is there anything specific you think it may be? All this worked fine in the VB 5.1.x series but I'm not sure exactly where it may have gone wrong.

The only way I can get it to generate anything, such as a 252 byte webm file is to toggle the video capture settings *whilst* the guest is running. In that case, this is all I see in the logs with regards to VideoRec:

00:01:53.417204 VideoRec: Recording screen #0 stopped
00:01:53.417211 VideoRec: Closed file '/virtual/VirtualBox/Machines/Windows10/Windows10.webm'

It looks to me like an empty webm header containing the following.

webmB
vpxencv1.6.1WA
Oracle VM VirtualBox 5.2.0r118431

Thanks.
