Could it be documented somewhere in virtualbox documentation so new users
could learn about the solution also?
I find that there is an accessibility section in the documentation of
virtualbox, I believe that it could be included there, because it helps to
solve the issue for a lot of users.
For example:
"It is recommended to set the guest audio card to intel hd audio in virtual
machine settings to prevent issues while installing and using linux guest
systems".
That could help a lot of users in the future.
If it is possible to include such note in documentation, it will be highly
appreciated!

Try changing your guest's audio card from ac97 to intel hd audio, and
