Hi Thad and VB Community,
The problem I "had solved" has come back! The same error message is displayed:
<<Kernel driver not installed (rc= -1908)Make sure the kernel module has been
loaded successfully.where: suplibOsInit what: 3 VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED
(-1908) - The support deiver is not installed. On linux, open returned ENOENT.>>
I typed the following command lines:
<<Step 1 - sudo kextload -b org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxDrv
Step 2 - Go into System Preferences->Security & Privacy
Step 3 - Unlock the security center
Step 4 - Approve the software by Oracle
Step 5 -
sudo kextload -b org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxNetFltsudo kextload -b
org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxNetAdpsudo kextload -b org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxUSB
Step 6 - Reboot!>>
But it is still not working. I reinstalled the VirtualBox.pkg again and it
worked under the Oracle software approval in the Security & Privacy Centre.
Coincidentally or not, immediately I started to navigate on internet using
Safari, the Private Relay (Beta), which had worked well until that moment,
stopped to work and the following message was displayed:
<<Private Relay (Beta): Unavailable. Some of your system settings prevent
Private Relay from working.Your system has extensions or settings installed
that are incompatible with Private Relay.>>
I don't know if VirtualBox.pkg has any extension that could be incompatible
with Private Relay or Monterey OS.
I turned off the Private Relay and rebooted the MacBook Pro. When I tried to
launch the VB, the same error message was displayed again even I had typed all
the command lines above. Sad!
If I try to reopen the VB, the new error message is displayed:
<<You must specify a machine to start, using the command line.Usage:
VirtualBoxVM -- startvm <name|UUID>Starts the VirtualBox virtual machine with
the given name or unique identifier (UUID).>>
I don't know what <name|UUID> means. If I have a virtual Windows called Win8.1
installed into my VB, is Win8.1 the <name|UUID>?
Please how could I solve this problem definitely? (The temporary solution is
reinstalling the VB pkg and approving it into Security & Privacy Centre)
Thank you a lot for your advices and help!
Cheers,Reinaldo.

I had the same issue last month with Monterey as I had with Big Sur last year.
Here's what I posted a couple weeks ago:

Fixed. I recalled this morning that I'd had similar problems with Big Sur. The
fix below, from Fernando Cassia <[email protected]> (Thu, Nov 19, 2020 at 12:05

did not need to do it again.)

On social networks I read many mentions of VirtualBox from Mac users. They just
don't seem to be subscribed to this mailing list.
Copying and pasting from the bugtracker:
///
I was able to get VirtualBox 6.1.16 r140961 running on BigSur macOS 11.0.1
(20B29) / Darwin 20.1.0
Step 1
sudo kextload -b org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxDrv
Step 2 - Go into System Preferences->Security & Privacy
Step 3 - Unlock the security center
Step 4 - Approve the software by Oracle
Step 5
sudo kextload -b org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxNetFlt
sudo kextload -b org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxNetAdp
sudo kextload -b org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxUSB
Step 6 - Reboot!

Hi Thad and all VB users,
I updated OSX to Monterey and I tried to install VB 6.1.28 into new OSX, but
the installation failed. The error message was:
“The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail.
Contact the software manufacturer for assistance”.
Moreover, the current VB doesn’t run. The error message is:
“Kernel driver not installed (rc= -1908)Make sure the kernel module has been
loaded successfully.where: suplibOsInit what: 3 VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED
(-1908) - The support deiver is not installed. On linux, open returned ENOENT”.
Please how could I solve this issue in my Mac?
Thank you for your help.
Best,Reinaldo.
