Virtualbox is a x86 / AMD64 virtualizer. M1/2 is ARM architecture. It would have to be rewritten from scratch. Possible? yes, but it would be a new code base, only sharing the name. Much like "Windows for ARM" vs Windows for Intel/AMD. You can run QEMU which is a x86 emulator in software, in your M1/M2 Macs.
