Hi, I'm using virtual box on linux 2.6.18 (debian sid), with an hosted Windows 2000 Pro. I've created a bridge, with tap0 device, following the documentation. It's working perfectly, when the OS boots. Then, randomly, after a while, it seems the tap interface stops working : it's still in the bridge, it's still displayed in ifconfig, but the packets counter don't change anymore. At that moment, virtualbox (or maybe the windows inside it) uses 100% CPU, and windows is unusable. If I save the OS, drop and recreate the tap interface, reattach it to the bridge, then restore the OS, everything works again.
