Ubuntu
6.10I can mount and read/write shared folders in ubuntu. However, after I
save
and then resumed my guest system, I cannot access the shared folders any
more,
it says "unknown type". In addition, if I restart the guest system, the
shared
folders (worked before restart) becomes unmounted, I have to run the mount
command again.

Unfortunately, I have no solution for you. I am experiencing the
re-mounting
problem as well, also using Win XP host and Ubuntu 6.10 guest. Maybe it
has
something to do with the timing of the mounting operation (maybe Ubuntu
doesn't
see the shared folders when it tries to mount them on boot, but finds them
after
you log in). If thats the case, it may be possible make a script auto-run
when
you log in to try mounting the folders again.

Could you please tell me how you set up the read/write permissions for the
shared folders? Several of the folders I mount have read-only, but a
couple are
read/write and I can't tell why.

Thanks
David
