Thanks David, I've read though that and I've been using the same kernel
from when I installed Vbox, and dkms has not complained it cant build
the module.

I've down a complete install of vbox and the guest OS.
It'll work if its natted but not bridged.
The system monitor can see the pings from the guest OS on tun, but not
on tap1 , so its not going down the pipe.
Unfortunately tcpdump will only look at eth0 or br0, the only activity
on br0 is a cups BC.

I did note in the info from thatt prior posting the user was set to
"tux", my system didn'y like that..
