In order to use your cdrom in the guest you must mount your cdrom in
VBox before.  If VBox can't access  /dev/cdrom0, you can make a soft
link:

ln -s /dev/cdrom0 dev/cdrom

I use Feisty as my host OS and run Windows XP, Debian Etch Stable, etc
as guest OS'es
