It is an interesting idea, and I would surely learn a lot by doing

Given the level of maturity and generality it currently exhibits, I
would rather not spend time in such a hope.
BTW, it got me worried that the emphasis seem to be on graphical tools.
Sure VirtualBox is nice, but I would feel more comfortable if
functionality was at libraries and both VirtualBox and vditool were but
front-ends.
I am already doing a new installation, and the sole issue is that I
have lost the l and u keys inside the virtual machine. I hope it is
fixable, but I guess I should send a report under separate cover as not
to hijack the thread.
