It's not a problem as much as an implementation design issue. we have a central location to VBox files (machine and disk) but the files themselves are sitting on different raid1 devices in other locations. I was employing virtual links just to make it easier to find the files in question, and, if I had to move a file, VirtualBox wouldn't have to be told.

Hello Ray,

I can't say for sure, but it is pretty likely, as our APIs for resolving path names also follow symbolic links. Is this causing you problems?

Michael

Does VirtualBox dereference symbolic links for machine directories and disk images? It keeps showing the real path to the files when I do a VBoxManage list vms.
