Yes I have the source code for the kernel I'm running, and I added
myself to vboxusers, and on installing the 1.4 version over the older
version it says it built the module....looks like it lied.

I'm using 2.6.17-13 and
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Desktop]# lsmod | grep vbox
vboxdrv 41192 1
I've just uninstalled virtualbox as the rpm data base showed ver 1.3
installed, yet vbox said it was 1.4
rpm -e virtualbox-1.3.8-1mdv2007.1
so went to install 1.4 and got this:-
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Download]# rpm -ivh
VirtualBox-1.4.0_21864_mdv2007.1-1.i586.rpm Preparing...
########################################### [100%] package
VirtualBox-1.4.0_21864_mdv2007.1-1 is already installed
Why 2007.1-1 this breaks the rpm database
so next
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Download]# rpm -e VirtualBox-1.4.0_21864_mdv2007.1-1
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Download]# rpm -ivh
VirtualBox-1.4.0_21864_mdv2007.1-1.i586.rpm Preparing...
