In the current version, this situation is only possible if you manually
played with the configuration files or if there was some weird system
crash that messed it up.
Please send me all .xml files from your $HOME/.VirtualBox and I will try
to help. Try also to recall why/when did you start getting that, and try
to reproduce step by step (if possible).

This UUID is a UUID of the COM interface (IMachine), not of the virtual
machine itself.
