Hi,

I would like to run a DNS server on a guest Win2003 server VM, as I
want to run Active Directory on it. I want to forward all external
look-ups to the DNS of my ISP. The host is a Mac behind a standard
cable modem & router. So far I have:

- set up the guest proxy for DNS via VBoxManage (as described in the
NAT section of Virtual Networking (the 3 commands)
- set up port forwarding for DNS (53) to the host machine on the router.

Currently the host is using DHCP. Would I have to fix its IP for this
to work long-term? What else should I do (or change) as DNS is
currently not working on the guest?

Thanks,

GAM
