I did exactly what you tried to do (dynamic HD size) without any problem. In fact I'm running it now to support Linux-based Thunderbird while my laptop is in the shop. It works great. I would try booting the openSUSE 10.3 Live CD and look at the dmesg output to see what it is saying about the hard drives. My system yields the following: scsi0 : ata_piix scsi1 : ata_piix ata1: PATA max MWDMA2 cmd 0x000101f0 ctl 0x000103f6 bmdma 0x0001c000 irq 14 ata2: PATA max MWDMA2 cmd 0x00010170 ctl 0x00010376 bmdma 0x0001c008 irq 15 ata1.00: ATA-6: VBOX HARDDISK, 1.0, max UDMA/133 ata1.00: 16777216 sectors, multi 128: LBA ata1.00: configured for MWDMA2 ata2.00: ATAPI: VBOX CD-ROM, 1.0, max UDMA/133 ata2.00: configured for MWDMA2 scsi 0:0:0:0: Direct-Access ATA VBOX HARDDISK 1.0 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 scsi 1:0:0:0: CD-ROM VBOX CD-ROM 1.0 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 BIOS EDD facility v0.16 2004-Jun-25, 1 devices found sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] 16777216 512-byte hardware sectors (8590 MB) sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00 sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Write cache: enabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] 16777216 512-byte hardware sectors (8590 MB) sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00 sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Write cache: enabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA sda: sda1 sda2 sda3 sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk Larry _______________________________________________ vbox-users mailing list [email protected] http://vbox.innotek.de/mailman/listinfo/vbox-users
