I had an "unavailable" USB device plugged in to my Ubuntu 8.10 host running a w2k guest. I unmounted it from ubuntu. It remained unavailable to the guest. I unplugged it. A few minutes later I plugged it back in. Ubuntu remounted it. I have the free, as in free source and in free beer, version.
