i already tested it too. i suspect that, Virtualbox does not support audio input on some systems, i am not sure.. I am also waiting for beta and stable version of Ubuntu..
if anybody sure that audio input is working with Virtualbox, let me know.. i need that, becaue, i am using Ubuntu, and using Windows in virtual machine only i had to do so, such as some programs that requires windows and i cannot run with wine. Currently, i need a voip application that runs only in windows. if you know a good voip application, (that can connect to a sip server) let me know too... thanks 2009/3/23 Frank Mehnert <[email protected]>: > On Monday 23 March 2009, bvidinli wrote: >> i use Virtualbox on Ubuntu 9.04 Alpha6 >> installed Windows xp inside Virtualbox >> >> i can play audio in Windows, but cannot record audio, >> cannot use any audio conversation program such as msn/skype, since >> audio input is not working. >> >> i selected in Virtualbox->settings >> sound driver -> ALSA >> adapter -> ICH AC97 >> >> >> normally sound input/output working in host OS, Ubuntu. >> >> >> Can you please help ? > > It is recommended to start the PulseAudio server on your distribution > (if not already done) and to select the PulseAudio backend in the VM > settings. > > Kind regards, > > Frank > -- > Dr.-Ing.
